In the spring of 2006, Havurat Shalom affiliated itself with the National Registry of Conscious Objection, which was created at The Peace Abbey, in Sherborn, Massachusetts, following the war in the Persian Gulf in early 1991. The Registry provides men and women of all ages with an opportunity to register their objection to personal, national, and international violence.

The Hav is now inviting all people, and especially young people, who are inclined on principle to refuse to engage in war, and may wish to sign the Registry to document that refusal, to get in touch with us. If after due consideration such people feel in accord with the Registry statement of principles, we will invite them to the Hav and warmly, supportively witness their signing of the Registry book.

For more information about the National Registry project as a whole, see the Peace Abbey website.
