At the end of every service at Havurat Shalom we thank those who did the "front facing" tasks: lead, leyn, the dvar, and show up.

The Hav is a volunteer community. I would like to thank everyone who performed all the tasks to ensure that High Holiday services happened: Those who made sure the main tent and chairs were rented, and that the floor and carpet cleaners were hired. Who procured and set up the small tents, and set up the lights, sound system, and Zoom. Who found everything in the closets, made signs and put them up, cleaned the aron, and changed the Torot and aron into their holiday clothing. Who cleaned and repaired the chairs, and set them up. Who put out machzorim and other books, talitot and kipot, bug spray, tissues, and everything else we needed. Who made sure there was food when expected, that there were plates and utensils, and made sure it was all put out. Who did the laundry and other daily cleaning tasks. Who found and scheduled everyone who did the front facing tasks. Who put everything back to pre-chaggim status.

Thank-you. Thank-you. Thank-you. I know I have forgotten some tasks. so I continue to say thank-you to all those who did a little, and to all those who did a lot.

Chag same'ach. G'mar chatimah tova. I look forward to seeing all of you at services and events at Havurat Shalom throughout the year.
Lori Meltzer's first service was Kol Nidrei 1981, and has called the Hav home ever since. Lori has since become a member and often overworks, just like many others. Her child received b'mitzvah here, and her husband's funeral was officiated over by members of the Hav. Lori is grateful for everyone who helps the Hav in whatever way they do. Don't forget to eat!

Thank you Lori! I remember you from my days in the Boston area, but I've been retired in Florida since 2020. I am grateful for the Zoom that allows me to take part from a distance.
